Brynne Schellenger

Brynne Schellenger is a licensed master’s-level psychologist in Kansas with a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Washburn University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Kansas State University. Brynne has more than 10 years of experience providing behavioral and mental health services to clients in Douglas County and surrounding communities.

Brynne’s clinical background includes work at Bert Nash Community Mental Health Center, where they served in the Intensive Outpatient and Dialectical Behavior Therapy program as a Community Psychiatric Support and Treatment worker, Clinical Case Manager, and therapist. Brynne later co-founded the DBT Center of Lawrence and Kansas City, LLC, where they provided comprehensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy services to adolescents, families, and adults. Their work included individual therapy, DBT skills training groups, family-based services, phone coaching, weekly DBT consultation, and Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy. During Brynne’s time with the practice, the DBT Center received private practice certification from the Linehan Board of Certification.

Brynne has also worked in the Lawrence school district as an emergency and long-term substitute teacher. Their therapeutic approach is evidence-based, collaborative, nonjudgmental, and values-driven, with a focus on helping clients build meaningful lives while developing skills, insight, accountability, and self-compassion. Brynne continues to pursue additional training and certifications to provide culturally responsive, disability-informed, and trauma-informed care to clients of all ages and backgrounds.

Outside of their professional work, Brynne is a parent, spouse, and animal lover who enjoys kayaking, painting War Machine figurines, building Lego with their child, historical sewing, cross-stitching, bullet journaling, and learning through research and audiobooks.
