Suzy Green

Suzy Green (she/her) is a master’s level licensed therapist in the state of Kansas. She attended the University of Kansas School of Social Welfare and received her bachelor’s degree in 2007 and her master’s degree in 2013. Her experience is grounded in relational work and social justice advocacy.  

For the past 20 years, Suzy has worked with children and families, focusing on child and family development, parenting education, parent-child relationships, and community-level systems change. Her direct service roles have been as an advocate for domestic violence survivors, a support group leader, therapist, and home visitor. She was a trainer for Project EAGLE Early Head Start and program director for Lawrence Parents as Teachers, Infant Toddler Services, and Community Children’s Center. Suzy was integral in creating a new Family Resource Center in Douglas County that focused on low-barrier services for families with young children – where you don’t have to tell your story to justify asking for help. Additionally, she is a board member of KAIMH (Kansas Association of Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health) and has earned the KAIMH Endorsement for Culturally Sensitive, Relationship-Focused Practice Promoting Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health.

Whether she works with a family, a team, or an organization, Suzy takes a systemic approach to change, working to find opportunities to heal inside and outside of the therapeutic relationship. As a therapist, Suzy works under a strengths-based, solution-focused practice with children, adults, and families. As a person, Suzy finds healing for herself through nature, walking her goofy dogs, sharing coffee with a friend, and attending live music events with her family.

“I believe that Therapy is a process of both nature and nurture. Accepting ourselves just as we are – and being willing to change at the same time. Knowing we are going to make mistakes – and continuing to show up for ourselves over and over again,” says Suzy. She will believe you, trust you, and walk alongside you to create new chapters that honor who you are and who you were meant to be.
